II. Instructions
1. The eight-position shift valve features eight working positions: reverse gear R, neutral N, and gears F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, and F6. Among these, port 4 is the intake port, while ports F1, F2, F3, F5, and F6 are the working ports. The exhaust port is shown in the figure.
1. Two working ports are open, while the pressurized air in the remaining working ports is relieved by being discharged through the exhaust passage and exhaust port of the disc valve core.
2. As shown in the diagram, the gear position is F1. In this position, pressurized air enters the cavity through port 4 and the intake passage. At this time, the pressurized air in the cavity flows into the chamber via the channels in the disc valve core and valve plate.

The wiring for the holes on the bottom surface of the connecting plate is as follows: Holes 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 are connected to an eight-position shift cylinder; hole 4 is connected to the system air source and serves as the air inlet; hole 7 is left unconnected and functions as the exhaust port.

III. Working Principle
The eight-position shift valve has eight working positions: reverse gear R, neutral N, F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, and F6. The lever is evenly distributed along an arc between the reverse gear R position and the F6 position, covering a total of eight positions.
In the neutral (N) position, the actuating blade 31 at the lower end of the lever 4 just presses down on the external contact of the neutral-position protection switch 19, closing the internal contacts of the protection switch and completing the starting circuit for the starter motor.
In summary:
The shift lever is in the neutral (N) position. Port 4 is the air intake port; connect it to an air source and start the engine. At this time, ports 1 and 2 serve as output ports.
Move the handle lever to the position midway between the N and R gears. At this point, no air pressure is output from ports 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7.
Shift the handle lever into R gear: 2-port output
Shift lever into F1 gear: 1, 6-port output
Handle lever shifts into F2 gear: Outputs from ports 1, 3, and 6.
The handle lever shifts into F3 gear: outputs at ports 1, 3, 5, and 6.
The handle lever shifts into F4 gear: outputs from ports 1, 5, and 6.
Shift the lever to F5 gear: 1, 5-port output
Shift lever into F6 gear: 5-port output
