The QF506 dual-purpose relay is a pneumatically controlled directional control valve that can be configured for either normally closed or normally open operation, depending on the pneumatic circuit connection.
The QF506 dual-purpose relay valve is primarily composed of components such as the inner valve seat, outer valve seat, spool assembly, guide sleeve, inner sleeve, spring, seals, and valve body. When operated as a normally closed valve, compressed air entering through the control port K actuates the spool assembly to close the outer valve seat while simultaneously disengaging from the inner valve seat to establish a flow path. Compressed air supplied from the source port P then flows through this internal passage and is discharged from the output port A.
When no control air is supplied, the spool assembly returns under spring action to seal against the inner valve seat, while simultaneously disengaging from the outer valve seat. Compressed air in the outlet line is then vented through the pilot port O. If the valve is to be used as a normally open valve, simply convert the exhaust port O into an air supply port P.
The QF506 dual-purpose air relay is one of the most widely used pneumatic components in the pneumatic systems of oil drilling rigs, geological exploration drilling rigs, and workover units. It is primarily employed in the air-supply and return circuits for pneumatic clutches and cylinders, as well as in the interlock circuits of anti-collision crown block devices and in the automatic start-up and shutdown circuits of air compressors.
